PAT DOUGHERTY & THE SECOND-HAND OPERA PREVIEW ALBUM LIVE ON RADIO NOIR

The Second-Hand Opera has been working on their new album for a couple months now, and last Sunday night they debuted what will be the tracklist of Love Stories, Heartbreaks, and Picture Shows. Still no word on a release date, but rest assured it will appear in 2009.

Huddled around two microphones, the group performed a stripped down version of the upcoming album, minus percussionist Andy Myers. Although the band's usual high energy (and high volume) is absent from this performance, Dougherty's songwriting is put on display in new light, and moments of beauty are layered throughout.

The performance seemed candid and spontaneous, and fans will experience some of these songs in a new light.
At times the microphone seemed like a fly on the wall, capturing intimate moments and arrangements created out of thin air. Showing off their geeky sense of humor, several inside jokes occur in between songs. Not to mention the abundant amount of Bowie references.

The album will be released on Keep In Touch Records.
