The trio was up to their usual tricks at The Saint Paul Opera House. Clawthroat's unique blend of punk rock and folk songwriting rarely dissapoints, and this set was no exception. Playing material from their latest EP, Know Yr Roots, the band came out of the gate with a spirited rendition of "Training and Stretching."
The high energy set was a mixture of crowd favorites and new material, but all of it got bodies moving. Without a doubt, Clawthroat is one of the Twin Cities most exciting bands.
One footnote: Joe Downing wins the award for classiest gesture when he offered, "For every person who buys a touring act's CD tonight, we'll give you ours for free."
